Batuki Music Society and the Gladstone Hotel present Ruth Mathiang for the Music Series on Friday, April 2, 2010. Ruth Mathiang performs her Sudanese roots music at the Melody Bar in the Gladstone Hotel along with DJ Apollo at 7 pm.
Sudanese-born Ruth Mathiang lends her remarkable voice to songs expressing hope, peace & social justice. She mixes her favourite styles, hip hop, reggae, afrobeat & gospel, singing in Arabic & Kiswahili & other languages.
Apollo is one of the top African music DJ’s in the city with a diverse collection of popular and classic hits.
The World Concerts takes place the first Friday of each month from 7 – 10 pm. in the Melody Bar at the Gladstone Hotel located at 1214 Queen Street West. The concerts are all age, free events. The series features a diverse lineup of performers with a strong focus on African music.
